My Philosophy
The Triad of Health is the model I utilize as a doctor of chiropractic. I love the model because it includes all aspects of a patient’s presentation – Biomechanical, Biochemical and Mental/Emotional/Spiritual.
The Chiropractic adjustment is found in the structural area of the triangle. I draw upon the Torque Release Technique (instrument assisted adjusting) to ensure that your brain is getting to your body fully. Incorporating stretching into your daily regime is a key way to be healthy from a structural perspective so I share my favorite stretches too. Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is also a key part of the structural care I offer (plus it is very relaxing for the mind ). In addition to its recognized effectiveness in chronic head and neck conditions, including concussion treatment, this osteopathic based technique is very successful in treating birth trauma, breastfeeding issues and behavioral disorders in children.
In my early 20’s, I studied mind/body medicine and meditation before entering chiropractic school. I bring the wisdom of these studies into the treatment plan where I see fit.
Over the past five years I have immersed my practice into the field of nutritional therapy, realizing that our nutrition is responsible for 80% of our health. Filling in the gap between what our cells need and what we are getting from our food has become a passion for me, because of the powerful results I have witnessed in my patients.
